RK1 construction activities are underway and the project remains on target for first production in October 2004.

The plant site is now enclosed by a security fence and Tawana Projects (Pty) Ltd personnel are on site. Concrete work is in progress and the civil works are on schedule for completion in August 2004. Power supply has now been established to the site.

About 90% of the processing equipment is on order and equipment deliveries to site will commence during August. The flotation cells are the longest delivery item and are on the critical path for plant completion.

Sylvania Resources Limited has acquired a 25% interest in the RK1 consortium which will treat chromite tailings through a purpose built plant at Aquarius Platinum Limitedís Kroondal Mine, in order to extract platinum group metals (platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold).

Please refer to the Sylvania Resources website at from 1 July 2004, for photographs providing regular updates on the progress of the construction.
