About us

Sylvania’s core business is the retreatment of PGM-bearing chrome tailings. The group has a low risk profile which is underpinned by skilled management, low costs and a focus on cash generation and returns to shareholders.

The Sylvania cash-generating subsidiaries are incorporated in South Africa with the functional currency of these operations being South African Rand (ZAR). Revenues from the sale of PGMs are received in United States Dollar ($/USD) and then converted into ZAR.

Through the Thaba JV, we aim to process chrome tailings from ex isting historical dumps and ROM chrome ore from the Limberg Chrome Mine to produce PGM and chromite concentrate, expanding our operations and leveraging our expertise in chrome and PGM recovery.
